Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alana Jean Harbin Blackstone, 60, of Memphis, Tennessee, who went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2025. Alana was a devoted Christian and a passionate bible study leader. She dedicated her life to sharing the gospel, guiding others in their faith, and encouraging people to read God's word from beginning to end. Years ago she began sharing the chronological Bible with family and friends and, even in her weakest physical stage in the hospital, she was sharing God's word and handing out Bibles to all who would take one. Alana's greatest joys were Jesus, her Savior and Lord, her family, and her friends.

She was Robert's precious bride, and together, they built a home filled with love, warmth, and joy. As a mother, she raised her children to know the Lord Jesus, their Savior, with endless patience, kindness, and unconditional love, always guiding them with wisdom and strength.

Her love for the outdoors, especially hiking, was a reflection of her heart—peaceful, adventurous, and always seeking the beauty in the world around her.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and her deep love for those around her. Her legacy will live on through her children and all the lives she touched by sharing God's love and His word.

Alana was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. William R. Harbin Sr., her mother, Annetta Jean McMorries Cain Harbin, her brother, Robert Bruce Cain, her nephews, Neil Cain and Parker Page. She is survived by her beloved husband of 36 1/2 years and sweetheart of 40 years, Robert Joseph Blackstone, her precious children, Aaron Blackstone (Lauren), Ethan Blackstone (Jessica), Lydia Blackstone, and Asa Blackstone, five beautiful grandchildren who affectionately called her Nayna, siblings, Katherine Harbin Marek, Mary Harbin Page, William (Bill) Harbin. Jr., and her sister-in-laws, Dee Dee Blackstone Brown and Angel Blackstone, and many other extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.

If you want to know this Jesus that Alana served here are just a few verses out of the book of Romans in the Bible. But, as she would say, "I recommend you read His word from beginning to end chronologically to grasp the full meaning."

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God."

Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 10:9-10: "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right, and it is by declaring with your mouth that you are saved."

Romans 10:13: "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

If you are ready to follow God's plan of salvation, place your faith in Jesus as your Savior. Change your mind from embracing sin and rejecting God to rejecting sin and embracing God through Jesus Christ. Fully trust in the sacrifice of Jesus as the perfect and complete payment for your sins. If you do this, God's Word promises that you will be saved, your sins will be forgiven, and you will spend eternity in heaven. There is no more important decision. Place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior today! https://us01.l.antigena.com/l/Ag3dtxsU8kkwHTE_napQYJ6Wb~kAUTtymD5MSQElf7xbz-YSrTJDpVH6~0-R1XNpc3oj_qkqe4V1gYKEoPquOWjYgMHoMzcTmmd80sUuaO7jY-s5OBqtojV9kMBuUuktOh5Cpa8oT1B6hEhP~WE37e2EovSpH29Dbxwg~IB0oJit

The family will be laying her to rest in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alana's GoFundMe to help offset the expenses of her long hospital stay and fight with cancer, or two ministries that were near to her heart:
