Albert Lugero Albonetti, 85, of Olive Branch, MS, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 17, 2021.
Albert was born on December 30, 1935 in Memphis, to Lugero and Rosie Albonetti. He graduated high school from CBC in 1954 and was an excellent football and baseball player. Although he loved baseball he chose to marry his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Patricia(Pat) Ann Walker in June of 1955, rather than pursue a professional baseball career. He then worked for over 50 years as a meat cutter at Fineberg Packing Company, Seessel's Supermarkets and Kroger. He also served in the Marine Reserves and was honorably discharged.
Albert was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Eudora Baptist Church.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Pat Albonetti in 2013.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-laws, Terry & Shari Albonetti of Olive Branch, MS; Steve & Melinda Albonetti of Eudora, MS and Tim & Lisa Albonetti of College Grove, TN; sixteen grandchildren; Nick Albonetti (Ashley); Laci Albonetti; Abel Albonetti (Shelby);Nathan Albonetti(Kaycie); Desiree Roberson (Garrett); Austin Albonetti; Duchess Brown(Scott); Abrianna Geeslin(Alex); Alec Albonetti; Gabriel Albonetti; Glory Albonetti; Isaac Albonetti; Noah Albonetti; Adriele Albonetti; Ava Joy Albonetti and Jeremiah Albonetti; and seven great grandchildren, Emersyn Albonetti; Axel Albonetti; Tenley Albonetti; Brady Albonetti; Lakyn Brown; Emma Albonetti and Kinley Rose Albonetti.
Albert is also survived by his younger brother and sister in law, Joseph (Joe) Albonetti (Marilyn).
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1425 E. Shelby Dr., Memphis, TN 38116, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery-South, 2545 E. Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN 38118.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Wounder Warriors Project or the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
