Alene Mallett, age 94, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2018.  She was born May 28, 1923 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi to Elvis and Jessie Brazil (deceased).  Formerly of Memphis, Alene resided in Dresden, TN.  She retired from Bell South (currently ATT) after working 40 years. She was a life time member of the ATT Memphis Pioneers who participated in volunteer work and provided community services locally.  Alene was also an avid Grizzlies fan and had a love for flowers and gardening.

Alene is preceded in death by her husband of more than 45 years, James Mallet.  She is also preceded in death by 4 brothers: Eugene Brazil, Joseph Brazil, Charles Brazil, and Henry Brazil; and sisters Dulcye Guin and Louise Hollihan.  She is survived by 4 daughters:  Charlotte Meierhoefer, Barbara Mallett, Shan Hardin and Allyson Mallett; 1 brother, David Brazil; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.   Burial will follow, all at Forest Hill Memorial Park East.

Alene's wishes are that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice.
