Alfred F. Wilson

Passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday, December 26, 2015, after a long illness. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 7, 1932, the son of James Stacy and Mary Wilson. He was both an Army and Navy veteran service in the Korean War. He retired as a District Chief from the Memphis Fire Department after serving twenty-seven years. An avid golfer, he played regularly until his failing health prevented it. He was a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett and joyfully served as a greeter on Sunday mornings. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Betty Joyce Wilson; one daughter, Jill Wilson Hodges; three sons, Mike (Susan) Wilson, Jeff (Beth) Wilson, Chris (Jacque) Wilson; ten grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Michael (Katie) Wilson, Allyson (Jason) Kralis, Allison Hodges, Bryan Wilson, Laura (Zach) Justice, Christopher Wilson, Sara (Casey) Latiolais, Rachel (Josh) Prince, Ryan Wilson; one great grandchild, Luke Michael Wilson and a sister, Gladys (Tom) Graham. The visitation will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Rd., on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5-7 pm. The funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church on North Germantown Road in Bartlett on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens.
