Obituary

Alice Marilyn Purvis Albonetti passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.  She passed with joy and full knowledge that she would meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven.

Alice Marilyn was raised in Newbern Tennessee by her aunt Sadie Patrick.  As a young woman, she met Joseph Anthony Albonetti, whom she married in 1960 and started a family, raising four children.  A devoted wife and mother, she also had a long professional career, primarily with St. Paul Insurance Company.  She is survived by her husband Joseph of 61 years, daughter Tina Jo Albonetti Visconti (Raymond), Michael (Mike) Anthony Albonetti (Lynne), John Dean Albonetti and Barry Joseph Albonetti (Lisa).  She also leaves eight grandchildren, whom she adored, and one great granddaughter.

Alice Marilyn will be most remembered for her deep faith in God and her love for his son, Jesus Christ.  She attended both Catholic and Protestant churches throughout her life, and continued to read the bible and stay devoted to the Lord, Jesus Christ after she was no longer able to leave her home.  Her greatest hope in life was that her family would have a deep and personal relationship with the Lord and she continued to encourage this until her last day.

Alice Marilyn and her husband Joseph had a special marriage and were very devoted to one another.  She was deeply cared for by by her husband both emotionally and physically in good times and times of trials and failing health.  Alice Marilyn had a strong work ethic, holding a full-time job while raising her family.  She was especially known for her great cooking, which she learned from her father-in law, and could be counted on for big family breakfasts and Sunday dinners featuring her famous meat loaf, chili mac and many other delicious specialties. She always made sure everyone had their favorite.   She was very fashionable as a young woman, and continued to enjoy jewelry and dressing up throughout her life as long as she was able to do so.  She enjoyed collecting things, notably dolls and figurines which decorated the home for many years, and was especially fond of her two cats, Susie and Missy, whom she adopted in her later life.  She had a charitable heart and gave to many worthy causes.

Alice Marilyn will be buried at Forest Hill Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery on Whitten Road in Memphis Tennessee.  A graveside service for family will be held.
