Alisa Frizzell
McNeely
Oct 7, 1963 — Aug 19, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Alisa Frizzell McNeely, who passed away on August 19, 2026. Alisa was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on October 7, 1963, to Velda and the late Austin Eugene Frizzell.
Alisa was preceded in death by her father, Austin Eugene Frizzell. She is survived by her mother, Velda Frizzell; her husband, Darryl McNeely; her children, Rebekah (William) Huddleston, Matthew McNeely, and Stephen McNeely; her grandchildren, Aaron, Emma, and Sophia Huddleston; her brothers, Mike (Ruth) and Danny (Omi); as well as her beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Alisa was raised in a churchgoing, Christ-centered family. She was a member of First Assembly of God and, as a young girl, participated in the Missionette program, where she earned the honor of Honor Star. Her faith remained an important part of her life.
Alisa graduated from Ridgeway High School and attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. After returning to Memphis, she worked with Memphis Association of Realtors, training staff in computer software and later served as an office manager for chiropractic offices. In more recent years, she worked at Las Delicias, where she genuinely loved her job, coworkers, customers, and the community she served.
A gifted writer and public speaker, Alisa also served as a leader and teacher for Celebrate Recovery. God used her testimony and journey of sobriety to touch countless lives. She helped lead others to the Lord and offered hope, encouragement, and support to those walking their own road to recovery.
Alisa was a devoted wife of 36 years to her husband, Darryl. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and commitment. She was a loving mother who would drop anything to help her children and a source of wisdom, encouragement, comfort, and unconditional love.
One of Alisa’s greatest joys was being “Nana.” She treasured every milestone and every ordinary moment with her grandchildren, Aaron, Emma, and Sophia. She loved picking them up from school, taking them for treats, and turning simple outings into adventures. When Aaron called Nana to come get him and Emma, she came running—and he would often be waiting in the driveway for her arrival. As Sophia grew older and more aware, she would grab her shoes because she wasn’t going to be left behind!
Alisa loved deeply and had a gift for making people feel valued and welcome. She was joyful, compassionate, loyal, and witty, and she could always be counted on for a comeback. She also dearly loved her dogs, Cozette, Annie, and Nikki.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories Alisa leaves behind and in the legacy of faith and love she instilled in her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful example of grace, compassion, devotion, and forgiveness, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing and loving her.
