Allan Rogers Herring, 78, of Olive Branch, Mississippi passed away February 18, 2017 at Methodist University Hospital. Allan was the son of I. S. and Viola Herring. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Nell Young Herring, a son, Philip Herring (Emily) of Olive Branch, and his precious grandchildren Mary Claire and Allan Herring. He also leaves his son, David Herring (Cynthia) of Virginia and grandchildren Christopher, Kathryn, and Elizabeth. Allan leaves two brothers, James Herring (Claudia) and Norman Herring (Joyce). Allan graduated from Southside in 1957. He served as a Boy Scout Scoutmaster. He retired from Comcast and continued his sideline business of Al The Chimney Sweep until recently. Allan faithfully served the Lord at the churches he has attended throughout the years. Allan was a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 22 until service begins at 11:30 a.m. at Longview Heights Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens.
