On March 22, 2016, Allen Jackson Brock, Jr. passed away at The Memphis Jewish Home, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Johnnie Sue Brock. He is survived by his brother, Darrell Brock, Sr. of Victoria, MS; his sister, Beverly Stamper of Moscow, TN; two nephews: Darrell "Buzz" Brock, Jr. of Victoria, MS and George B. Perry of Memphis, TN; two nieces: Melissa Haley of Atoka, TN; and Karen Caulk of Cincinnati, OH; 11 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.
He was a 1955 graduate of Treadwell High School. Early in his working career, he was employed by Humco in Memphis. He operated Modern Upholstery Company and was a retired driver for Heavy Machines Inc.
He was a Colonel and Past Commander in the Jaycee Tennessee Volunteer Corps and a co-founder of the National Corp of Corps. He was a member of the USJCI Senate and Past President of the Tennessee JCI Senate. He was a longtime member of the Memphis Jaycees. He was on the Mid-South Fair board for many years. He was a member of the Lions Club and was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held March 25, 2016 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home on Whitten Rd from 5 pm to 7 pm. The funeral will be March 26, 2016 at Bartlett Baptist Church at 10 am with processional to an internment in Memphis Memory Gardens.
