Alma Wells, 93, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Roszielean Jewell. She is survived by her two daughters Oletta Tucker and Milo A. Jones, her sisters, Coralene Wells and Gertrude Jewell both of Memphis whom she loved dearly. Additionally, Alma is survived by 5 grandchildren, Gregory Roberson (Pamela), Pamela Barnes, Gail Toler (Melvin), Kim Arney (Samuel), George Jones III (Malisa) , fourteen great grandchildren and eleven great great- grandchildren. Her grandson, Ronald Roberson, and great grandson, Kevin Roberson, preceded her in death. A lifelong Memphian, she was born September 23, 1922. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was a former employee of Julius Lewis Department Store. She was always a joy to be around with an infectious positive attitude and a unique ability to make people smile. She was loved by everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Highlands of Memphis Health & Rehab Nursing Home for their wonderful care and compassion. Services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 with visitation at 10 am and services beginning at 11 am at Greater Memphis Pentecostal Assembly, 8941 East Shelby Drive, Memphis, TN. The burial is immediately following at New Park Cemetery.
