Southaven - Andrew Jerome Thompson, 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville. Mr. Thompson was retired from Tri State Press in Memphis. He was an Army veteran serving during WWII in the 94 Infantry Division and a Member of Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edd Nelle Thompson, and his sister, Augusta Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Thompson; daughters, Andrea Benjamin (Robert) of Loveland, OH; Michelle Tong (Phillip) of Germantown, TN; Denise McGrath of Jonesboro, AR; sons, Drew Thompson of Denver CO, Tim Ryan (Freida) of Ranlo, NC, Terry Ryan (Karen) of Memphis, TN. Pat Ryan (Lisa) of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren, David Benjamin, Cathy Benjamin, Lindsey Tong, Rachel Tong, Dr. Christopher McGrath (Dr. Leslye), Celia Freeman (Caleb) Katherine McGrath, Amber Theneil (Jason), Kristen Weatherly (Kyle), Drew Ryan, Joseph Ryan, Amanda Ryan; two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 20 at Forest Hill South, with services, 11 a.m., Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to St. Paul Catholic Church or The American Cancer Society.
