Anetia Louise Appling, 86, of Mountain View, AR, passed Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Marcia Preisen. She had fought a long, hard battle with dementia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lena Mae (Mamie) Shelton; her in-laws, Carl and Lois Appling; her son, Aubrey Joe Appling, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Cyndi Appling; and many other family members and friends.
She had a great love for dolls. Her collection consist of various types from antique to modern. One of her favorite sayings was, "A girl can never have too many dolls." She was the former secretary for the Arkansas Auctioneer Association, where she served for over 20 years. She was co-owner and operator of A+A Auction Service. She loved her family and was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Joe (AJ) Appling Sr., of 67 years; daughter, Marcia Preisen (Shawn); son, Carl Richard (Ricky) Appling Sr.; 9 grandchildren: Amanda Mansel (Richard), Joe Appling III (Lynsie), Christopher Appling (Angie), Melissa Pla, Christy Pickers (Richard), Stephanie Bumgarner (Rod), Carl Appling, Jr. (Linda), Brandon Appling, and Matthew Appling; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID, there will be a viewing at 1:00 pm and service in the mausoleum at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2020 at Forest Hill South, with the graveside service to follow.
The family requests that memorials are sent to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
