Obituary

Angela Branyan Craig, 88, of Memphis TN was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on May 29, 2018 with her family by her side.  She was born in Memphis on Jan 11, 1930 to the late Claude V. & Jettye Gullett Branyan.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years Willam Blair Craig, her brother Ronald Branyan, close friend Jim DeCrow, and son-in-law Jerry Daniel.  Angela is survived by:  her son Dennis Branyan Craig (Fran), Diane Craig Daniel, and William David Craig (Elcira); grandchildren Angela Caroline Craig, Lisa Craig Rauschenbach (Ben), Elaine Daniel Savell (Will), Craig Neal Daniel (Missy), William Jeffrey Craig (Ginger), and Jessica Craig.  She also was blessed with great-grandchildren Caroline and Colin Rauschenbach; Emma, Jack and Ally Savell; Lindley Belle and Dottie Grace Daniel; Mason Craig; and 3 more on the way!

Angela was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.  She graduated from Southside HS, attended Blue Mountain College, and graduated cum laude from Memphis State.  She retired after 32 years as a Memphis school teacher, teaching fourth grade at Willow Oaks and sixth grade at Newberry Elementary schools. Angela was active in church her entire life, growing up and marrying at Boulevard Baptist, and lastly a faithful member at Bellevue Baptist.  She loved singing in the choir and a ladies trio.

Angela lived the last nine years of her life at Kirby Pines Retirement Community.  She loved living there, making new friends and participating in the activities.  The last 3 years she lived in The Manor at Kirby Pines, and her family deeply appreciates the loving care she received there.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm, and a celebration of her life at 6pm on Friday, June 1, at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis TN 38133. A private burial will be held at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Memphis Union Mission, 383 Poplar Av, Memphis 38105; or The Gideons International, P.O. Box 382361, Germantown TN 38183-2361.
