Anna Faye "Suzie" Rikard, passed away on the morning of July 10, 2016 of natural causes at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven, MS. Faye Rikard was born in the town of Lafe, AR on October 27, 1942. She was the first child of Ervin Edgar and Jewel Elizabeth. Faye joyfully told the story of how she was given the childhood nickname "Suzie." Her daddy called her his Suzie girl the first time he laid eyes on her and from that she became known as "Suzie." Faye was introduced to Guy and a few months later they were married on June 22, 1961. She was a loving wife, Mother, Nini (Grandma), sister, and friend. She was always cooking and sharing it with others, it was her way of showing her love for them. Her favorite, past times were crossword puzzles, reading books and the newspaper. She was lovingly called Ms. Faye by the children she cared for through the years. Faye was saved at the age of 12 at a little Baptist Church in Arkansas. She became a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Walls, MS, formerly located in Memphis, TN, where her membership remains. Faye was preceded in death by her father, Ervin E, mother, Jewel; sisters, Melba (Henry) and Glenda (Reade). Faye is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Guy Rikard; children, Jeanetta Ervin (Steven); Eugene Rikard, Melissa Tomaszewski (David); Michael Rikard (Esther) and John Rikard; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Rowland (Wayne) and LaVena Witcher. Family and friends will gather to share memories 5-7 pm, Tuesday with services at 10 am, Wednesday. Both will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home, South on Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Bethel Baptist Church.
