IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annie Belle
Williams
June 15, 1932 – May 31, 2025
Annie Belle Williams, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 31st.
She was born to Floyd & Annie Hand in rural Crockett County TN. Annie was raised on a farm and very familiar with hard work and determination. She helped in every aspect of the farm even assisting with her younger sister Glenda who was 8 years younger. She was brought up in a very loving, Christian home that set her foundation and character for things to come in her life. She came to Memphis after graduation from Maury City High School in 1950 to attend Business school. She married Robert Earnest Williams in 1952 right before he headed off to basic training at Camp Lejuene for the Korean war. She lived with her dear friends Ben & Lottie Littles and began working at South Central Bell while Dad was deployed. They bought their 2nd home in 1957 on Corning Avenue in Frayser and became Mamma Williams to all of the neighborhood kids, which she loved to her last breath. We all gathered at the end of the driveway and when she yelled our names, we knew it was time to come in. She was truly the best mom, gave so unselfishly to everyone. Daddy worked hard to provide for us and her so we were blessed.
Together she and Robert raised four daughters, Laurice, Marcia, Emily & Rilla. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Laurice Ann Williams and only sister, Glenda (Dave Browder). Left to cherish her wonderful life and legacy are daughters, Marcia (Danny) Jinks of Drummonds, TN, Emily (Bruce) Wallace of Bartlett, TN and Rilla (Wesley) Nagle of Bartlett, TN.; grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Skinner of Atoka, TN, Daniel (Emily) Jinks of Birmingham, AL, Shelby (Randy) Shettles of Hernando, MS, and Renee Nagle & Josh Russell of Bartlett, TN. She left 4 great grandsons and a great grand-daughter on the way. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were like her children as well.
