Ara Leaon Akins, 84, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019.  The widow of Willie Akins, she is survived by two sons, Ricky J. and Danny J. Akins, one sister, three brothers, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by a son, David L. Akins.  Family and friends will gather to share memories from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, with services at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.  Both will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park- Midtown.  Interment will follow at Forest Hill South Cemetery.
