Nesbit - Archie Raymond Garner, 90, passed from this life, peacefully, at his home in Nesbit, MS on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 7:01 p.m. Mr. Garner was a long time resident of DeSoto County and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Nesbit, where he served many years as a deacon and an adult Sunday School teacher. He is now rejoicing in glory with his beloved wife, Sue, who preceded him in death nearly five years ago. Ray owned and operated Garner Dental Laboratory from January 1968 until December 1985, and was certified by the National Board of Certification in full and partial dentures. Mr. Garner is succeeded by his daughter, Dolores Elliott, and by three sons, Milton Garner (Judy), Curtis Garner (Cindy), and Harry Garner (Charlotte), and six grandchildren: Jennifer, Jessica, Christine, Samuel, Scott, Kevin. He also leaves nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren to carry on his good name. The funeral arrangements and mortuary services were provided by Forest Hill Funeral Home South in Memphis; and the family wishes to publicly acknowledge their fine staff for the compassionate and effective manner in which they assisted us during this process. The funeral service was conducted at the First Baptist Church, Nesbit, MS, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 and was officiated by the church's former pastor, Rev. Kirt Germany, and by Rev. Gary Black, the current pastor, who ministered to our father during his final years. Our family is forever grateful to these two godly men for countless ways they have ministered to Dad, and to us for, lo, so many years.
