Arthur David Smith, 92, of Memphis, passed away December 16, 2016. Mr. Smith was born April 11, 1924, in Chicago, IL to Thyra Erickson Smith and Leroy Edward Smith. He was preceded in death by Elinor June DeMoss Smith, his beloved wife of 67 years. He is survived by four children: Thyra Ragan (Bill) of Memphis, TN, Janet Smith of Huntsville, AL, Melissa Brooks of Springfield, MO, and Eric Smith (Ann) of Torrance, CA, twelve grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith graduated from Lakeview High School in Chicago in 1942. He served in the Navy. He retired from International Harvester in 1984. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1958. His life revolved around his family and church. He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, and father to his children. Among his many interests were fishing, reading, travel, photography, and music.

A viewing is scheduled for 1 p.m., December 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6325 Raleigh LaGrange Rd., Memphis, TN with service to follow at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Memphis Memory Gardens.
