Barbara Ann Powell Adams, 79, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in her hometown, Southaven, MS.She was born August 29, 1937 in Crockett Mills, TN. She was the daugher of Talmadge and Helen Castellaw Revelle. She loved spending time with her brothers and sisters. She also loved sports in her younger days. She played basketball for her High School where graduated in Crockett Mills, TN. She attended Blue Mountain College in 1956 and 1957. She retired from Horn Lake Library in 2001. She is a long time active member of Carriage Hills Baptist Church. She loved traveling with loving husband, Drennon Adams to various counties and states. She is preceded in death by her parents: Helen Castellaw and Talmadge Revelle; first husband, William R." Bill" Powell, Renee Powell Lewis, brothers: Robert "Bob", Donald and Tom Knowlton, also sister Latane. She is survived by her husband, Drennon Adams, son, Richard Revelle Powell (Penny); step-daughter, Becky Sutherland (David) and step-son, Ken Adams (Angela); grandchildren: Zachary and Dexter Powell, William Lewis (Cayla), Kenny Adams and Megan Stotts (Bryan); great-grandchildren: Natalee, Beckette and Blair Stotts. She is also survived by her brother, Jim (Betty) and sister, Nannie-Jane (Montague). The family would like to extend their gratitude to DeSoto Health Care, Carriage Hills Baptist Church and Pastor, Brother Matt Brady, Friends and all of the Special Neighbors of Coventry Cove/Drive for their endless support and love in her final days. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10 at Forest Hill South with service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
