Barbara Sue Hutchens, born on November 26, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on December 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old.

Barbara Sue graduated from Messick High School in 1968, Barbara Sue dedicated 40 years of her life to her career as a phlebotomist at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, TN retiring in 2013. Her commitment to her work and her patients was unwavering.

Barbara Sue was a member of Millington First Baptist Church in Millington, TN and always shared her love for Jesus with all who knew her.

She was also a member of the Ladies Italian-American Civic League in Memphis, where she formed lasting friendships. Known for her kindness and generosity, she enjoyed making crochet blankets for family and friends. Her passion for helping others and her love for travel, especially to Gatlinburg, TN and Italy, were well-known among those who knew her.

Barbara Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Marie Cavallo Williams, and father, Jack Wayne, and her granddaughter, Rebecca Underwood. She is survived by her brother, Bobby (Dianne) Wayne; her daughter, Natalie (Barry) Weisfeld; and her granddaughter, Chelsea Underwood. Barbara Sue also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Blakely, Violet, and Amier, as well as her dear sister cousins, Ann (Don) Davis and Debbie (Barry) Counter, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Barbara Sue Hutchens will be remembered for her compassion, kindness and faith and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where her granddaughter Becca received care, and the Humane Society of Memphis, TN.
