Barbara Rita Kelly, 88, born February 9, 1933 passed away November 9, 2021 at her home in Bartlett, TN. S he is now at home with her S avior and Lord Jesus Christ. She leaves behind one daughter; Robyn (John) Finney of Memphis, TN, one son; Mike (Joanna) Kel ly, Jr. of Nesbit, MS, five grandchildren; Dylan Finney , Trey Kelly (Emilly) , Matthew Steiner (Hanna), Pol Steiner (Hollyn), Timothy Steiner , si x great grandchildren , and one brother; William (Sherri) Sosville of Pawtucket, RI. She was preceded in death in by her parents; Clovis and Elsie Sosville, one brother; Robert Sosville and one grandson; Chase Jarrett Brown.

Barbara served in the United States Air Force and was in active duty during the Korean War. During that time , she spent several months at the Presidio of San Francisco assisting wounded soldiers after their return. Many were amputees that she would help with writing letters for them, visiting with them and even teaching some of them to knit while with the USAF Liaison Office .

Barbara was a very kind, loving and caring mother a nd grandmother to her family and a special friend to many . She was a longtime member of Bartlett United Methodist Church in Bartlett, TN. In h er free time , she enjoyed reading books, writing storie s, sewing, spending ti me with family and friends and we can't forget her cats. Barbara also loved to travel and loved being at the beach listening to the waves come in and seeing the sunset on the horizon.

A M emorial service will be h eld a t Bartlett United Meth odist Chu rch on Saturday Novemb er the 20 th , 2021 . Visitation will be gin at 10am and the M emorial service will follow at 11am.
