Barbara Ann Mitchell passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026. She was born on October 4,1939 in Friendship, Tennessee to the late Cecil and Sue Ford.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother whose love and commitment were evident throughout her life. At just 17 years old, she courageously traveled with 7 suitcases by boat to Germany to be with the man she loved a testament to her deep devotion. She cherished her friends and family and found joy in cheering on Tiger basketball. Barbara also had a creative spirit and enjoyed painting, cooking, and writing.

Barbara is preceded in death by her sons, Scott and Mike; sister, Cecelia.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 69 years, Thomas Mitchell; grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew (Mallori); great grandchildren, Myla, Finley, and Baker.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly and will be in our hearts forever.
