IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Jean
Sutton
December 16, 1938 – April 14, 2025
Mrs. Barbara Jean Ervin Sutton was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to (parents) Robert Ervin and Leonora Bridges Ervin on December 16, 1938. Barbara died peacefully in her sleep on April 14, 2025 at 86 years old. Barbara is survived by her sister, Thelma Katie Paul and brother, Butch Ervin. She also leaves behind her children, Bill Sutton (Melody) of Memphis, TN, Tim Sutton (Penny) of Billings, Montana and Melody Webb (Billy) of Panama City Beach, FL. She also is survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Willard Sutton and her son, Willard (WC) Sutton, Jr. Barbara lived proudly in Bartlett Tennessee since 1982 in her beautiful home which she loved.
Barbara graduated high school and went on to seamstress school and there found her passion in life. She was an amazing seamstress and made wedding dresses, beautiful little girl's dresses, quilts and many other things. She also loved to crochet. Many babies had blankets because of her caring hands. Barbara also was very interested in genealogy and spent hours researching hers and other families. She went on many trips to add to her intricate study of her heritage. Barbara played the piano and organ at her church, New Hope Church of the Nazarene. Barbara was an avid bowler and won many awards for her talent. She was always looking for ways to improve her game.
Barbara had two amazing friends (Brenda and Marie) who she spent as much time with as possible.
In 2018, she had a stroke which took away a lot of her abilities, but she crocheted until recently. She talked about how much she missed her husband and the ability to do the things she loved.
The family would ask that in lieu of flowers to donate to Huntington's Disease Society of America as her husband, son and other family members have suffered with this disease. www.hdsa.org
