Barry E. Cummins, Sr., 81, of Lakeland, TN passed away on 9/28/2024 after a long battle with dementia. He was born on 7/13/1943 to Ralph and Mary Bueltel Cummins in Covington, KY.

Barry graduated from Covington Latin School as well as from Thomas More College with a degree in Accounting. He also earned an MBA from Xavier University.

He married Nancy Blewett on 1/29/1966. They lived in Virginia so that Barry could serve a two-year stint in the US army after being drafted. They subsequently relocated to Memphis, and Barry started his accounting career with Kimberly Clark. He ultimately retired from Buckman Labs in 2003 after serving as their Controller/Treasurer.

Barry and Nancy raised two children – Barry, Jr. and Diane. After becoming a widower, Barry married Marilyn Craig on 11/18/2006. Together they share 4 children (Barry Jr., Diane Chick, Scott Craig, and Kim Stewart), 8 grandchildren (Drew Chick, Courtney Bellou, Dylan Cummins, Madeline Cummins, Michael Craig, Daniel Craig, Katelyn Stewart, and Jonathan Stewart) and 2 great-grandchildren.

Barry's primary hobbies during retirement were traveling, reading, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed running and participated in numerous 5-K races.

Barry was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, his children, and grandchildren along with his four brothers – Jerry, Yogi, Jimmy, and Denny.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association or St. Ann Bartlett.
