Bertha Mae Morrison, 91, of Memphis, TN passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital Hospice. Born July 10, 1927, in National, MD, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Sr. and Hannah Leatherman. She was a 50 year resident of Memphis, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward C. Morrison Jr., and grandsons, Brad Morrison of Indianapolis, IN and Eddie Morrison of Tacoma, WA.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Leatherman, Jr., and sisters, Betty Shumate, Zoe VanMeter, and Elaine Anderson.  She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Kang of Cordova, TN, and five sons:  Larry Morrison and wife, Diana, of Tacoma, WA; Randy Morrison of Bartlett, TN; Wayne Morrison of Germantown, TN; Bruce Morrison and wife, Debbie, of Memphis, TN and Lance Morrison and wife, Donelle, of Bartlett, TN.  She is also survived by three granddaughters, five grandsons, four great-grandsons, and six great-granddaughters.  There were many interests and hobbies she enjoyed throughout her life.  She was a Den Mother for The Boys Scouts of America in the late 1960's.  She was a Duncan Certified Ceramic Teacher.  She loved doing pieces for family and friends, which are cherished today.  She was also a Wilton Certified Cake Decorator; collecting dozens of pans and baking 100's of cakes over the years that many enjoyed.  She had other hobbies, which included cooking for her family and whoever else showed up, crocheting baby blankets and dresses, floral arranging, and working crossword puzzles.  She always said that keeping her mind and hands busy would keep her young.

Bertha Mae Morrison was a loving and devoted wife, dedicated mother, and giving friend.  She was always smiling, saw the best in everyone, and was eternally optimistic.  She enjoyed life and was thankful to all those who shared it with her.  She always spoke of how proud she was of all her children.
