On June 10, 2026 Bessie D. Havens passed away quietly at Wesley Meadows Retirement Community in Hernando, MS. Bessie was born on March 25, 1931 in Enid, MS. The eldest daughter of ten children, she was always busy helping with younger siblings, working in the fields, and going to school.

Bessie was a devoted mother and Memaw to her six children, seventeen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Bessie was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Weatherly, and great-grandson, Gauge Affuso. She is survived by two sisters, two sisters in law, her five children, and their families.

Her wit was unmatched, her singing infectious. She was a kind, feisty, intelligent woman who loved Jesus and her family with all her heart. She will be deeply missed.
