Jackson, TN - Betty Ann Bowden Livingston, 74, departed this life to live in God''s glory on Sunday, September 2, 2012, after a 5 year battle with metastatic ovarian cancer. Betty was born on March 24, 1938, in Fulton, KY, to Harry Bowden and Naomi Bowden Young, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the graduating class of 1956 from Fulton High School. Formerly of Bartlett, TN, Betty was a homemaker who raised a family of four. Her life brought her to Jackson, TN in the 1980s, where she resided since then. She enjoyed staying active throughout her life and worked at several different retail and medical jobs. She also volunteered at local hospitals and nursing homes. Betty was an enthusiastic member of Northside Assembly of God in Jackson, TN and enjoyed singing in the choir, visiting the sick and participating in prayer groups. She lived a life of exemplary piety: she loved the Lord and she loved to serve Him. Betty enjoyed traveling, playing the dulcimer and was an enthusiastic and gifted carver and painter. She was also an avid bird watcher and an outdoor enthusiast. She appreciated nature and the world God made. She loved to fish, take and look at pictures and was not afraid to live life completely and fully. She deeply loved and was committed to her family and friends. She is preceded in death by Dena Marie Livingston, a daughter, and Debra Livingston Rowan of Humboldt, TN, also a daughter. Betty is survived by her two sons, David Wayne Livingston (Cindy) of Cordova, TN and Dell Ray Livingston (Carol) of Ellendale, TN, and a son-in-law, William Rowan of Milan, TN. Surviving siblings include a sister, Fran Drabek of Rice Lake, WI and two brothers, Bobby Bowden of Fulton, KY and Tommy Bowden (Brenda) of London, KY. She leaves six loving grandchildren: Jason Livingston of Arlington, TN, Ethan and Benjamin Livingston of Ellendale, TN and Megan, Zackary and Hannah Rowan all of Milan, TN. The family will receive visitors at Forest Hill Funeral Home - East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, on Wednesday evening, September 5th from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Thursday morning, September 6th at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society .
