Betty Grace Johnson Hamm was born on July 30, 1930 in Ripley, Mississippi. She graduated from Shadygrove School System. Betty was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. She was an avid gardener, who enjoyed canning, reading, needlework, gospel music, and doting on her husband and pets. She worked in the newspaper advertising industry for 24 years in Memphis, TN. Betty and her beloved husband, James Clyde Hamm, spent many happy years of retirement in Louisville, MS. In 2010, her husband "JC" (as she lovingly called him) died after 52 precious years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her Mother Violet Johnson, Father William Johnson, Sister Linda Johnson, and Brothers Tom and Billy Johnson. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sara Johnson Grisham and Donald Grisham of Germantown, TN; Brother-in-law David Christiansen and sister-in-law Diane Hamm Christiansen, baby sister of James Hamm; as well as many nieces and nephews and other family members who loved her dearly. Those who knew Betty Grace Johnson Hamm remember a woman with quiet simple ways, appreciation of her family and friends, and a loving nature. She will be missed greatly, but we know she is rejoicing in heaven, pain free, and reunited with loved ones.
