Betty E. Johnson, 85, of Southaven, passed away Friday after a courageous battle with cancer at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.
A retired accounting bookkeeper for Norrell Plastics, Betty was also a devoted homemaker who took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. She had a deeply artistic spirit and found joy and peace in crafting, jewelry making, painting, and decorating. Her creativity was evident in everything she touched, and she was delighted to share her handmade treasures and talents with those she loved.
Betty was the widowed wife of Larry Johnson and a loving mother to her daughter, Terry Dunlap, and her son, Larry R. Johnson, Jr., both of Byhalia. She was a cherished sister to Stan McNeese of Olive Branch and Richard McNeese of Miramar, Florida, and a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Johnson; her brother, John McNeese; and her beloved grandson, Matthew Johnson, whom she held forever in her heart.
Those who knew Betty will remember her as a loving, caring, and charitable woman with a gentle spirit. She had a deep appreciation for God's creatures, found happiness in the beauty around her, and faced life with a positive outlook and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2026 at 10:0am at Forest Hill Funeral Home East.
