Betty J. Powell, 83, of Southaven, MS died Friday, September 21, 2012. She was a member of the Open Door Tabernacle Church. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Powell and her daughter, Angela Yarbrough. She is survived by daughters, Susan Powell and Joy Bower and son, Gary Powell; sister, Alice Tate; brothers Gerald Jones and Carl Jones, Jr.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be 12-2 P.M., Monday, September 24, 2012 with services to follow at 2 P.M. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Hill East Cemetery.
