Betty Crosby Reese, 82, passed away on March 10, 2017. She was born on January 27, 1935 in Moselle, MS, to Horace and Mabre Crosby. Mrs. Reese lived in Meridian, Ms before moving to Memphis to be closer to family. In 1965, Mrs. Reese was crowned Mrs. Mississippi. Her outward beauty was stunning, but her inward beauty was even more beautiful. Her great smile and infectious laugh made everyone at ease. She loved flower arranging, gardening, and sewing. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Her most important thing in life was to love and serve her Lord, followed next by taking care of her family in her roll as wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Reese leaves her husband of 62 years, Roger Reese; children, Lisa Shackelford (John, Sr.), Michael Reese; grandchildren, Reese Shackelford, Alex Haven; great-grandchild, Mary Blythe Condon; and a niece, Connie Rambin. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, John Shackelford, Jr.; and brother, Horace Crosby, Jr. Services are private. The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
