Betty Imogene Russell 83, passed away March 10, 2015, peacefully in her sleep. Betty Imogene was born August 12, 1931, in Kossuth, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her parents Effie and Victor Lancaster, brothers Bill, who is survived by wife Avis, and Beecher Lancaster, and two sisters, Ruby Bumpus and Margaret Tankersley.

Betty Imogene is survived by her only child, David Keith Essary and his wife Sherry. She had two grandsons Keith and his wife Shannon, Kevin and his wife Stacie. She has four grand children, Austin, Alexandria, Josie, and Luke.

Betty Imogene worked as a hair stylist most of her life at Forest Hill South Funeral Home, always serving others. Friends and relatives are welcome to come join her family in her celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude''s Research Hospital, a charity her family supports.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. with Services following at 12:00 noon at Forest Hill South Funeral Home located at 2545 East Holmes Rd., Memphis, TN 38118. Dr Ernest Job, first cousin to Betty Imogene, will be officiating. She will be buried along side he husband David Russell at State Veteran''s Cemetery located at 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN. 38125 at 1:45 p.m.
