Betty Jean Welch, born on February 8, 1936, closed her eyes on the present and walked into forever on February 21, 2024 at the age of 88.  She was surrounded by love as she joined her heavenly family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Vernona Tyson, from Memphis, her cherished husband James H. Welch, his parents, and her sister Dorothy Jo Buchanan. She is survived by her sister Martha Labar, from GA, her niece Barbara Buchanan from Olive Branch, nephew Bryant Buchanan from Upstate NY, and numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Betty was born in Memphis, TN, and she spent most of her life in and near Memphis. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to the service of others as a compassionate private-duty Certified Nursing Assistant. Her infectious smile and boundless kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Betty was a faithful member of Fairhaven Baptist Church in Olive Branch MS. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
