Bill Taylor, 83 of Southaven, MS departed this life on the morning of August 1, 2017.
Bill started from humble beginnings and after being drafted into the Army took advantage of the GI bill and attended college. He was the first in his family to graduate from a university, Indiana State. He later used the skills he learned from working for General Motors to open his own body shop in Memphis, TN. Before retiring, he worked as a claims adjuster for several companies. His passion was cars. After retiring, he did a full restoration of a 68 Cutlass Convertible and presented it to his grand daughter, Kayla.
Bill had a love of animals and would often baby sit his eldest daughters'' dogs. He loved to invent things or try to improve upon original design. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with his buddies and always looked forward to his friends dropping by for coffee and conversation.
Bill is survived by two loving daughters: Melinda Taylor and Martha McNabb and her husband Robert. Two grandchildren - Kayla Dillon and her husband Jason, and Clint Crossno, plus one very special great grand child, Emily Dillon.
Services will be at Forest Hill Funeral Home, South, 2545 E. Holmes Road, with visitation on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 1 p.m.-2 p.m. and service following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery South.
