Billie Faye
Hillyard
Dec 24, 1939 — Aug 18, 2026
Cordova
Billie Faye Hillyard, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 18, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of her family and hospice.
Billie Faye was a petite lady with a big heart and a feisty spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family deeply and would drop everything to be there for her children. Billie Faye was the oldest of eight children and shared a special bond with her sisters - "The Sisterhood". She had a special gift for making every person feel loved and important.
She loved traveling, music and singing, nature, and birds. Her faith was at the center of her life, and she loved serving others. She participated in mission trips where she had the joy of sharing the love of Jesus with others. She also worked at her church for many years, serving faithfully wherever she was needed.
Her Love Story
Billie Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virgil Hillyard, whom she described through her life as a saint of a man. They were inseparable, and after 13 years apart, she is now reunited with the love of her life in Heaven. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mike Hillyard, and her parents Johnnie and Hazel McGaugh; her brother, Johnnie; and sisters, Patsy and Betty.
She is survived by her children: Tina Hawkins (Al), Tiffany Schmidt (Tony), Danny Hillyard (Lisa), and Randy Hillyard (Bobbie Jo). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Genni, Josh, Samuel, Nate, Jonathan, Joshua, Jessica, Joseph, Joe Beth, Clay, Ritchie, Courtney, and many precious great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bobbie Gail, Margie, Beverly and Debbie.
Her greatest joy was her family. She loved without favorites, making each person feel as though they held a special place in her heart. Her love, laughter, strength, faith, and feisty spirit will live on in all who knew and loved her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
Until we meet again, Mom. We love you and will miss you more than words can say.
