Billy Joe Hawks, born February 13, 1934 in Harris Station, TN went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2016 at 3:00 pm. He was a Corp. in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne as a Paratrooper. He retired from John Deere and I.C. Railroad. Mr. Hawks was a part of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of 42 years; daughters: Teresa Hawks Beach(Leroy), Joyce Stephens Burks(Mark), Sharon Stephens Conlee(Roger); sons: Larry Stephens(Charlotte) and Billy Stephens, Jr.; grandchildren: Noah, Joseph, Danny, Leann, Clyde, Jason, Dana, Marcus, and Patrick; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Donna Underwood; and one brother, Scottie Hawks. Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by his parents, Cletius and Hallie Hawks; one brother, Bruce Hawks; and daughter, Patricia Stephens. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Wednesday June 1, 2016 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00. All services and interment will be held at Forest Hill, South on Holmes Rd. The family requests that any memorials be made to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital.
