IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billy Wayne
Clayton
March 7, 1934 – December 16, 2024
Billy Wayne Clayton gained his heavenly home December 16th, 2024. He was 90 years old.
The youngest son of Jessie Lee and James Frank Clayton, he was born on March 7th, 1934. He married his high school sweetheart, Nell Ruth Bramlitt on March 28th, 1953. They were married for 71 years. They successfully created their own Upholstery business working side by side for over 35 years. They also raised five daughters. Jeannie Parchman, Denise Davis (Brian), Debbie Blackwell (Steve), Lisa Gomez (Caesar), and Lorie Sanderson (Keith). He affectionately called his ten grandchildren his Jammer Kids. They called him granddaddy or sometimes Jammer kid. He also was proud to have 16 great grandchildren. The young men employed by Mr. Clayton grew to become like the sons he never had.
He was always on time with a clean shave and polished shoes. Whatever he did, he gave it his best, whether upholstery, gardening, or Christmas lighting. He loved his wife and girls. He was always ready to let you know how much he loved Nell and how proud he was of his girls. He loved Jesus and gospel music. He longed for his heavenly home.
Billy was preceded in death by his 9 siblings. He is well loved by his many nieces and nephews, some who were like siblings themselves.
He was a longtime member of Longview Heights Baptist Church where he served as an usher before becoming ill.
