Billy Martin McCommon, 84, died on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House, Collierville, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was predeceased by his mom and dad, Newton and Minnie McCommon; his first wife, Dale, and three brothers, Norman, Wilbert and Robert McCommon. Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and retired as a District Fire Chief for the City of Memphis, serving 30 years. He was an active member of Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville and The Gideons. Bill is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. (Liz) McCommon, his son, Steven McCommon (Debra), and three grandchildren, Grace, Jack and John McCommon. Funeral services will be held at Covenant Baptist Church, 3170 E. Houston Levee Road, Collierville, on Thursday, February 8, 2018, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. and Memorial Service at 11:30 A.M.
