Billy Joe Wideman, 84, of Bartlett passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Methodist Germantown Hospital.  He was born in Memphis on February 21, 1937 to the late, John Harry and Nanny Chandler Wideman

Billy was an avid gardener, and enjoyed traveling and camping.  He retired from the Board of Education  (retired for 43 years). He loved Jesus and would help anyone in need. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Wideman; two brothers, Jimmy "RC" Wideman  (2003) and Richard Wideman (2019)

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, William Alan Wideman (Tina) and David Wideman (Cheryl), one sister, Sandra Wideman Beacham, his grandchildren, Kayla, Brooke, Brice, Matthew, and Lauren, great-grandchildren Hudson, Harper, and Cade, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133 from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park East.
