Birdie Frances Charnes Montgomery passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 05, 2025. She was born on May 19,1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late William and Dorothy Charnes.
Birdie married the love of her life, Billy Montgomery, on December 1st, 1963. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Southaven. Birdie was so vibrant, touching the hearts of many with her humor and wit, intent and thoughtfulness. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment with each of them. Birdie embodied strength and resilience. She loved dancing, music, and she adored her days at the Beauty Salon. Holidays, celebrations, and time with her siblings, family, and friends brought Birdie so much joy. She had a deep love for her dogs and made sure they were spoiled and pampered.
Birdie truly treasured and appreciated the little things in life. She turned ordinary moments into unforgettable memories and the impact of her life will be cherished forever.
Birdie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Billy Montgomery; and brother, Clifford Charnes.
Birdie leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Lisa Paton of Southaven, Mississippi; son, Billy Montgomery (Tina) of New Albany, Mississippi; sisters, Peggy Markle of Southaven, Mississippi and Judy Jackson of Southaven, Mississippi; brothers, Mike Charnes (Denise) of Hernando, Mississippi and Larry Charnes (Frances) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Grandchildren, Brittany Montgomery, Logan Montgomery, Brad Paton, Leslie Coffey; and five great grandchildren.
Birdie was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be missed dearly and will be in our hearts forever.
