Blanche Louise Bourne, 93, went to her Heavenly home on March 13, 2019. She was born on July 7, 1925, in Keeling, TN, to Milton Lewis and Nora Beatrice Wright Bourne, deceased. Blanche married her childhood sweetheart, George Alvin Hinsley, on December 24, 1946, who preceded her in death on April 7, 2015. During their 68 year marriage, they lived in Memphis, Idaville, and Brownsville, TN.
Blanche enjoyed crafts, and displayed many of her works at home. Blanche and Alvin loved traveling, both camping and cruising. They have been to all 50 states, and camped in 49 of them! Blanche and Alvin were active members of Trinity Baptist Church in Brighton, TN. While living in Memphis, they were members of Bethel Grove, East Park, Colonial, and Briarcrest Baptist Churches. She loved caring for infants, so you could find her in the nursery every Sunday at church.
She is survived by her children: James Larry Hinsley (Sharon A. Wallace) of Tallahassee, FL, and Dan Alvin Hinsley (Susan Connell) of Scottsdale, AZ. Joining the family in grief are her grandchildren: Laura K. Hinsley Rabakon (Michael) of Austin, TX (great grandchild, Russell A. Mann) and Amy L. Hinsley of Austin,TX. Blanche was preceded in death by her only sibling, James Lewis Bourne (Mildred Bourne, deceased). She will be missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family requests that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, in her memory to Trinity Baptist Church, 5970 Brighton-Clopton Road, Brighton, TN 38011, 901-476-8889.
The family wishes to express everlasting gratitude to the administrator (Diane Hooper), nurses, and the staff at Sugar Creek Senior Living Community in Brownsville, TN, for their loving attentiveness, excellence, and diligent professional care of Blanche over the years.
Viewing and visitation will be on Sunday, March 17, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133. Funeral service and burial will be held on Monday, March 18, at 10:00 am, at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East. 901-382-1000.
The services will be lead by Pastor Bill Cox of Trinity Baptist Church, Brighton, TN
