Bobby Gene Hurt, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 19th, 2018 at his home in Memphis, TN.

Bobby Hurt was born on October 4, 1932 to Ernest Eugene (Pawpaw) Hurt and Pearlie Presley Hurt (Mudgie) in Tipplersville, MS.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS.

As a remarkably sweet, caring and loving husband, father and "Peeps" to a multitude of grands, great-grands and extended family, his love for family was full of sentimental tributes to each family member.  Unlike anyone else, he had a special way of making all feel welcomed and loved, each unconditionally.  He had a special love for old traditional country music, fishing, hunting and sports.  He had a particular fondness for both Mississippi universities.

He worked as a customer service manager for the US Postal Service for nearly 40 years, which was a perfect fit for his excellent people skills.

One of his greatest characteristics was his genuine love of laughing and making others laugh.   Bobby was most remembered for his ability to make people feel accepted, all while pulling a prank or two just to add levity and laughter.

He is survived by his SPOUSE : LYNDA JOHNSON HURT OF MEMPHIS TN

Visitation -  Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133 on Saturday 11/24/2018 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 with Service immediately following at 2:00 pm.   Graveside services at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park South, 2545 East Holmes Road, Memphis, TN 38118

Services will be officiated by Dennis Doughty of Robinsonville, MS.
