IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby Joe
Lonon
December 27, 1931 – April 28, 2025
Bobby Lonon 93, of Southaven, MS passed away, Monday, April 28, 2025, peacefully at his home. Bobby was born in Friendship, TN to Frank Lonon and Udell Badgett Lonon on December 27, 1931. He attended Whitehaven High School where he graduated as well. After graduating he joined the United States Army where he served his country proudly. He went to work at International Harvester on Olive Street as a warehouseman for 30 yearsand retired at age 55 1/2 when they closed. He was baptized and a member of Ward Methodist Church on Swienna Rd.
Bobby loved working on cars in his garage and helping friends and neighbors with their cars in the Oakhaven Community. You could always find him in his garage. He never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved going camping and water skiing on the weekends to Sardis Lake and sometimes Enid Lake with brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and all the kids. He even had a flat bottom boat with a 429 Super Cobra Jet engine because of his need for speed on the lake with his brother-in-laws. When he and his late wife, Patty, moved into their dream home they had built in Southaven, he sold his boat and motorhome and bought a tractor.
He began bush hogging lots in Southaven and Collierville. He always had a smile on his face when he was on his tractor! He loved it! When his knees started getting bad, he had to stop bush hogging. He bought a golf cart and just enjoyed riding on it at his house and on his street visiting his neighbors. His neighbors were great to him and watched out for him!
Bobby loved his family and always loved when they visited but when he wanted to lay back in his chair and watch television he didn't mind telling them he enjoyed them but they needed to head home. He did this with visitors sometimes too! He spoke what he thought and everyone respected that. He was the go to person for all the family mechanic needs and advice.
Bobby is survived by daughters, Pam Abel (Jay) and Amy Rivers (Derek), grandchildren Heather (Dave), Kassi (Joe), Louis (Connie), Brad (Casey), Chad (Victoria) and DJ and great grand children as well.
He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Udell Lonon, wife Patty Sue Lonon and son, Ronnie J Lonon.
Bobby will forever be in our hearts and missed by his family and friends more than words can express.
