Bonnie
Crosno
Jun 8, 1933 — Aug 27, 2026
Bonnie Uthoff Crosno
June 8, 1933 | August 27, 2026
Bonnie Uthoff Crosno was born on June 8, 1933, in Charleston, Missouri. She grew up on a farm in Missouri with her parents and was the youngest of her four siblings. From the very beginning, Bonnie brought a special warmth and spirit to those around her.
During her school years, Bonnie met a young man named Jet. At first, she was not especially fond of him, but he was head over heels for her from the moment he laid eyes on her. He knew she was special lady and pursued her until she finally gave him a chance. On February 20, 1960, Bonnie married the love of her life, Jesse “Jet” Crosno, Sr. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed three children – Jetty, Fred, and Ava.
Bonnie and her family lived in many different places because of Jet’s job, including Missouri, Arkansas, Colorado, Puerto Rico, Florida, and Tennessee. No matter where they lived, Bonnie had a special way of making a house feel like home. She made friends everywhere she went, many of which lasted a lifetime.
Bonnie never met a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, and it usually only took a few minutes before you felt like you had known her forever. She had a way of making people feel welcome, loved, and comfortable.
Some of our favorite sayings of hers were “flittersticks,” “I’m going to whoop your butt,” “pitiful pearl,” “bread and butter,” “excuse me, excuse me, excuse me,” and “love you always and forever.” These little sayings were just another part of what made Bonnie so special and uniquely her. Her family will treasure theses phrases and recall them with fondness and love.
She was always ready to go and loved so many things. Some of her favorites were traveling to Las Vegas with friends and family, watching basketball, drinking her coffee, late night shopping trips, and enjoying an extra salty snack. She loved being around people and was happiest when she had someone to talk to, laugh with, or share a good story.
She was also the coolest grandmother, lovingly known by the grandkids as “Bon Bon” or “Mom Bon.” All of her grandchildren knew that if they needed or wanted something, she would do everything she could to make it happen. She never let them go without, and she would go to just about any length to make them happy, even if that meant a midnight trip to get chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream for everyone. To her grandchildren, she was the person they could always count on, no matter what. She loved them fiercely, spoiled them often, and made sure they always knew they were loved.
Bonnie was truly one of a kind. She was funny, loving, strong, independent, and full of life. She leaves behind a family who will carry her stories, her joy, and her love with them always. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son, Jetty Crosno (Cherri); her daughter, Ava MacFerran (Alan); and her daughter-in-law, Theresa; her grandchildren, Candise Harrell (Glyn), Chelsea Fernandez (Eliud), Jamie Schnetzler (Tanner), Zach Crosno (Gianna), Jesse Crosno (Tabitha), Jake MacFerran, Brooke MacFerran, Noah
MacFerran, Kyle Crosno, Emma MacFerran, and Lilly MacFerran; and her great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ella, Natalie, Ryder, Hallie, Jett, Sophie, Lucy, Griffin, Mia, and Violet.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ava Uthoff; her husband, Jesse “Jet” Crosno Sr.; her son, Fred Crosno; and her siblings, Verlin “Tuck,” Homer, Althea “Sissy,” and Harold.
Though Bonnie is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her family and friends will remember her for her big personality, her easy conversation, her friendships, her laughter, her generous heart, her funny sayings, and the way she could make anywhere feel like home.
She will be loved and missed for generations to come.
