IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonnie Jean
Heim
March 30, 1951 – May 23, 2025
Bonnie Jean (Williams) Heim March 30, 1951 – May 23, 2025.
Bonnie Jean (Williams) Heim, 74, of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. Bonnie was born in Springfield, Tennessee, to Robert and Ruby Jean Williams. She spent her early years in Springfield before the family moved to Jackson, MS, and soon after, settled in Memphis, TN. She lived in various parts of the Memphis area, including Collierville and, most recently, Southaven.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert and Ruby Jean Williams; her sister-in-law, Michelle Williams; her brothers-in-law, Raymond Heim and Steve Smith; and her cousins, Mary Elizabeth Brown and Sue Perry Ellis.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Kenneth Heim; their three children and their families: Michael Heim (Melissa), with children Abigail, Annabelle, and Ian; Christina Horton (Jacob), with children Ellyana, Alexander, Isabella, and Oliver; and Matthew Heim. She is also survived by her brothers, James "Jim" Williams (Jewel) and David Williams (Amy); her brother-in-law, David Heim (Linda); her sisters-in-law, Kay Smith and Grace Lepore (Danny); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Bonnie is also survived by her cherished dog, Winnie, a constant and comforting companion.
Bonnie met the love of her life, Kenneth, in June 1969, introduced by her brother Jim while Ken was serving in the Army at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Bonnie and Ken corresponded faithfully by letter for over two years while Ken was stationed in Germany. They were married in Memphis on August 7, 1971, beginning a journey of love and family that spanned more than five decades. Bonnie's faith in her Savior, Jesus, was the bedrock of her life. She deeply knew of God's love and grace. She shared that with others and everything she did flowed out of her faith in Jesus - her hope and her firm foundation. Aside from her faith, Bonnie had two passions: creating thoughtful, handmade gifts for those she loved, and her role as "Grammy." She treasured every moment with her grandchildren, never missing a chance to attend their events or milestones. She passed down a legacy of love, laughter, shared memories, crafting, and countless joyful hours baking cherished family recipes. Bonnie worked in many roles over the years, but most often found herself as a bookkeeper, a position that suited her meticulous nature and caring spirit. She cherished the years she spent working in the family business, William's Children's Apparel, alongside her parents, brother, and her children. Bonnie was most recently an active member of Getwell Church in Southaven. Before that she was a long time member at Collierville Christian Church. Wherever she was, she selflessly gave her time and energy to serving the church, and those in it, in whatever capacity was needed.
Those who knew Bonnie will always remember her for her kindness, humility — and for always thinking of others, often putting their needs before her own. Whether it was a handwritten note, a homemade gift, or a quiet word of encouragement, Bonnie had a way of making people feel seen and loved.
We couldn't have asked for a more loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Bonnie Jean Heim will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Bonnie's spiritual legacy will continue in the faith of her children and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Her funeral service will take place at the church on Wednesday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. Both services will take place at Getwell Church, 7875 Getwell Road, Southaven, MS 38672.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Desoto County Dream Center, a cause close to Bonnie's heart.
