Brenda Kay Rueweler passed away on September 1, 2023, surrounded by members of her loving family.
Brenda was born in Shelby County, TN to Effie K. Moore and Olen Clayton "Sonny" Haley. Brenda attended Overton High School and had many successful and fulfilling years working in the restaurant industry. She will forever be known for her quick wit, infectious laugh, her generous spirit, and her love for all. Brenda liked to read and loved watching the Memphis Grizzlies whenever she could catch a game on TV.
Brenda's true passion and joy, however, was her family. She loved and cherished her family above anything else and they loved and cherished her beyond measure. She was a source of comfort, and often the entertainment, for her family and friends. She loved them with all her heart, every day, and did so with devotion and kindness. That is Brenda's legacy.
Brenda is preceded in death by her loving parents and stepparents. Effie Kay Brown (John Brown), and Olen Clayton (Sara Haley).
She is also preceded by her siblings Ronald Lewis, Michael Haley, Buddy Haley, and Mary Vickers.
Brenda leaves behind her loving daughter, Kaylynn Whitley (Brian Beauregard), of Clermont, FL. She also leaves 5 grandchildren whom she adored and that loved her deeply. Kathryn Whitley of Port Orange, FL, Joshua Whitley (Katie) of Ocoee, FL, Tabitha Hardesty (Nicholas) of Deltona, FL, Ryan Whitley of Orlando, Fl, and Nicholas Whitley of Orlando, FL. Brenda's legacy extends to a third generation as well. She leaves 10 great – grandchildren, whom she was very proud of and loved fiercely! Brenda leaves behind many siblings that loved her and that she loved, so very much. Sandra Morgan, Paula Crocker, Joan Burk, Jimmy Lewis, Patricia Clark, Ava Nelson, Gerry Edrington, Barbara Roberts, and Vanda Haley. Brenda also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved and cared for, deeply.
The family will have private events, in Memphis and Florida, to honor and celebrate Brenda's life and all the things about her that will forever be held close to their hearts.
