Bryan Kennon Powers, 70, longtime Memphis resident and formerly of Virginia, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2016. He was born in Newport News, VA on November 16, 1946 to B.K. and Bea Powers, who preceded him in death. Mr. Powers was a graduate of NC State University, an Army Veteran and a retired Engineer. He was a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church and also of the Development Council of Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Powers is survived by his loving wife, Cindy of Memphis; brother, Craig Powers of Daleville, VA; son and daughter in law, Danny and Teresa Moeschle of Bartlett; four grandchildren, Sarah Moeschle, Hunter Moeschle, Stephen Kelley, Logan Kelley; mother-in-law, Betty Simmons; brothers-in-law, Paul Fields and Greg Simmons (Mary); sister-in-law, Amy Dowdy (Dennis); nieces, Victoria Dowdy, Natale Ryan and Chloe Simmons; and nephews, Joel Fields, Jeremiah Simmons, Mathis Ryan, Ian Simmons and Chris Simmons. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 21 and service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22 with additional visitation at 10 a.m. that morning at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East with interment following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary, Kirby Woods Baptist Church, St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital or a charity assisting Alzheimer''s.
