Calvin Douglas "Doug" Beaver, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his home in Collierville, TN. He was born in Memphis, TN on January 18, 1933 to Julia Mae and William Beaver. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings DeWitte Beaver and Bernice Young and son Johnny Beaver. Mr. Beaver is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose Beaver; three sons, Kenny Beaver (Nicky), Ronnie Beaver (Rochelle), Tracy Beaver; grandchildren, Ashley Beaver, Jason Speck and Ashley Speck Reese (Josh); and great-granddaughter, Adalyn. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Horne and Doris France. Doug worked at the Commercial Appeal for 52 years and has been retired since 1998. He was a hard working devoted family man who was always available to lend a helping hand to those in need. Mr. Beaver will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Forest Hill South Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 30 at the funeral home with interment to follow.
