Obituary

Horseshoe Lake - Carl W. Chambers, 92, passed away at his home, Wednesday, October 24, 2012, surrounded by his family. The widower of Julia Marie Chambers, he is survived by one daughter, Karla Chambers Fann of Horseshoe Lake; one son, Ronald Martin Chambers (Mary), Horseshoe Lake; one sister, Mary Sue Thomas, Camden, TN; one brother, R. B. Chambers, Dallas, TX; one sister-in-law, Shirley M. Ticer, Horseshoe Lake; nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Albert (Sonny) Chambers; two brothers, James Harold and Albert Neil Chambers. Mr. Chambers served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Very civic minded, he was former mayor of Horseshoe Lake, past president of the Lions Club; a TDOA Associate and an Associate with the Mid South Lions Club. The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m, Sunday, with funeral mass at 10 a.m. Monday, both at St. Michael Catholic Church, on Missouri St., West Memphis, AR.
