Southaven - CARL EDWARD "Eddy" SOMMER. Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 15 at Getwell Road United Methodist Church in Southaven. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. and a reception immediately following. He was born on November 29, 1960 in Mesa, AZ and died June 3 at home of natural causes. He is preceded in death by his father, David Sommer, Sr. He leaves his wife, Akemi Ozawa Sommer; a daughter, Megumi Sommer; a son, Edward Sommer; his mother and step-father, Claudette and Richard Williams; one sister, Cindy Sommer; and two brothers, David and Ricky Sommer. He was a graduate of Southaven High and joined the U.S. Navy in 1980 and was stationed 19 years in Japan. His specialty was in Naval Intelligence before he retired after 23 years as Chief Petty Officer. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up at Regions Bank for his children.
