W. CARL HOWELL, 91, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, from his home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, on September 2, 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Janice H. Marbry (Mark) of Denham Springs, LA; four grandchildren, Clayton M. Marbry (Kelly) of Gretna, LA, Jana Claire M. Hirst (Edwin) of Denham Springs, LA, Laura M. Cook (Aaron) of Taylors, SC, Joseph A. Marbry of Denham Springs, LA; and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, James R. Howell (Maxine) of Big Creek, MS; four sisters, Martha Spears of Olive Branch, MS, Margie Grist of Tupelo, MS, Varina Rullet of Pensacola, FL, and Patricia McElyea of Coffeeville, MS; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty-four years, M. Vendetta Stewart Howell; his parents, Winford A. and Virginia P. Lee Howell, of Coffeeville, MS; and four siblings, Billy Howell, Bobby Howell, Wanda Brewer, and Lou Nell Stewart. Mr. Howell was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater; a retiree of ExxonMobil Corporation; a member of Wells Station Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. On Saturday, September 12, 2015, the family will receive guests from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery South, 2545 E. Holmes Road, Memphis, TN.
